At Belmont we are growing life-long disciples of Christ from the very young to the very old. As students and young adults, we want you to be growing in your faith such that you’ll not just be following Jesus at university but for the whole of your life. So we encourage you to become part of the life of the whole church family – serving, learning and worshipping alongside others of different ages and backgrounds; whilst also knowing that we’re investing in you at this unique time in your lives.
Students meet regularly on Thursday evenings during term time for Bible study, prayer, food and social activities. At the start of term we will be arranging various welcome events to help you get to know our city and church. Event details will appear here, and also on our Facebook page.
We encourage students to join in with home groups and serve as part of the church community. We also offer one-to-one Bible reading with an older, more mature Christian as an important way of growing your faith. Many of our student community are involved in the Exeter University Evangelical Christian Union (ECU), Just Love or other forms of outreach and we love to encourage you in your witness for Jesus.

International students are especially welcome to join in with our church family life! We can also link you with the local Globe Café (run by Friends International and the university Evangelical Christian Union), as well as individuals in our church who will welcome you and help you grow in your knowledge of Jesus Christ during your time studying overseas.

Several PhD students attend Belmont and there is a group of PhD students which meets regularly for prayer, discussion and encouragement. Contact Jen for more info.
Young adults are actively involved throughout the life of the church, so if you’re new to Belmont we’d encourage you to get stuck in via a regular Home Group. BASE, a group for 18s-25s, meets regularly for food, social activities, prayer and reflection. There are also many chances to serve in different ministries and get involved in mentoring – both receiving and giving encouragement to others. For more information about home groups, BASE and other aspects of church family life, please contact Jen in the office.
